DR. SALEEL JIVRAJ

Dr. Sal Jivraj was born in London UK and completed his Optometry degree at Aston University School of Optometry. He served as Vice-President of the Aston Optometry Society.
Dr. Jivraj moved to Canada and completed his studies at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry. Dr. Jivraj has a wide experience working in hospital eye clinics in the UK to private practice medical clinics and group clinics in Canada. Dr. Jivraj is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists, and is licensed to prescribe oral and topical medications for the treatment and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Jivraj has given talks to senior’s centers about the important of eye health and regular exams for screening of cataract, macular degeneration and glaucoma. In his spare time, Dr. Jivraj loves to run 10K marathons and has raised funds for the Fight for Sight Charity. Dr. Jivraj is also an active member of the Canadian Ismaili Eye Care Alliance.

Top 40 Under 40: OD Canada, Feb 2018

Market Mall Eye Clinic is delighted to announce that Dr. Sal Jivraj was selected as one of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care’s “Top 40 Under 40 ” OD in Canada 2018″.
Dr Sal Jivraj attended further training and development in Feb 2018 at Ivey Business School – (Ivey Tangerine Leadership Centre) as part of the “Top 40 Under 40” OD programme. His next training programmes are in June and November 2018. We wish him all the best for his programme.

Congratulations to Dr. Saleel Jivraj for completing his dry eye management course and exams at Aston University (UK) in July 2018. As of July 2018, he is part of the first 12 optometrists to have completed this new dry eye course and exams.
Dr. Saleel Jivraj has a special interest in dry eye treatment and offers some of the latest treatments at his specialist dry eye clinic. Dr. Sal Jivraj is also an active member of My Dry Eye Network and he was a delegate of the very first Canadian Dry Eye Summit held in Toronto in May 2018.

Congratulations to Dr. Sal for passing his Fellowship exams in Contact Lenses and Dry Eye at the BCLA Asia conference in Singapore on 19 Sep 2018. He is now part of this esteemed group of 285 members globally to have been elected a Fellow of the BCLA and is hereby entitled to use the affix FBCLA.

Dry Eye Practitioner of the Year

Congratulations to Dr. Sal Jivraj for being awarded the 2019 Dry Eye Practitioner of the Year.
Dr. Sal focussed his MBA Master’s thesis on dry eyes and in the development of specialist dry eye services in optometric practice. Dr. Sal’s passion and interest in this area led him to create and design a free iPhone app for dry eye treatment and management. The DryiRelief app has provided relief and education to his patient’s attending his dry eye clinic. Dr. Sal was awarded this prestigious award at the optometry awards ceremony on June 01, 2019.
