Dr. Christie Law was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering in 2008. Her love of biology, physics, and health care led her to pursue her passion of optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry.
Throughout her externship rotations in Chicago, Colorado, and California, Dr. Law was able to gain valuable experience in low vision, binocular vision, and pediatrics. During her externship at the Dayton Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Ohio, Dr. Law expanded her experience in managing various ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Upon graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2012, Dr. Law worked in Calgary and then pursued a career in St. John’s, Newfoundland. For five years, she worked closely with ophthalmology in a multidisciplinary private practice co-managing ocular diseases, pre/post-corneal refractive surgery, as well as caring for low vision and pediatric patients. In 2018, Dr. Law seized the opportunity to practice and work alongside well-respected optometrists at the Barrhaven Optometric Centre, a busy clinic in Ottawa, Ontario.
Dr. Law is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Alberta Association of Optometrists. In her spare time, Christie enjoys running and hiking. She has completed many half marathons and the Rock & Roll Las Vegas Full Marathon in 2015. She is ecstatic to be back in her hometown of Calgary, and looks forward to serving her community again.
